At Encinitas Quarterly, we celebrate the rich tapestry of creativity in our community.

Our publication shines a light on local artists, writers, and performers, highlighting their stories and contributions to the Encinitas culture.

We began this journey to foster a deeper connection among artists and residents, believing that art has the power to inspire, engage, and transform. When you dive into our journal, you’ll find curated content that not only showcases talent but also invites you to join this vibrant artistic conversation.

Our Story

Encinitas Quarterly was born out of a deep commitment to the arts in this community.

Tony Kranz moved to Encinitas in 1960 and watched this city grow — serving on city council for 12 years, running a printing business, and operating a photography studio. Through it all, one thing remained constant: a belief that the arts are central to what makes Encinitas extraordinary.

This journal exists to create a connection between the artists, performers, writers, and residents who make that culture possible — through a publication that is artistic in and of itself.

Each quarterly issue is curated, local, and rooted in the place we call home.
